Caring for our mountain neighbors

In this week's news, I saw foothills residents showing just how much they care. That includes for those with special needs or in recovery, people seeking places to play and others wanting respect from their elected officials are our neighbors. And caring for and protecting our amazing wildlife. I have lived in cities on and off during my life and never saw such a level of care for wild creatures. But in Evergreen and the area, they are part of everyone's life, the reason some people moved there, and a regional treasure. As an animal lover, organizations like Wild Aware and the actions they take are enough to bring tears. Hopefully their approach spreads to Colorado's suburban and urban areas as well.
