Canyon Echo

Lots of stuff happening this weekend, and it’s all fun. It’s going to be a great weekend to get out and just enjoy living in the mountains.

Thank you for reading and let us know if you have anything to add!

🥍 Conifer adds three varsity coaches🏐

Last week, we introduced you to Jenny Hager, Evergreen High School’s new volleyball coach. We have three more new coaches to introduce this week, this time at Conifer High School.

Sean Hickman, who has been involved in lacrosse for 25 years and coaching for 15, takes over the top spot for the Lobos’ boys lacrosse team.

Adam Stewart takes over the Lobos volleyball coaching job. He might be familiar to some of the players already, having coached in Evergreen’s Rec. leagues and at Evergreen Middle School. The team did well last year, and he’s hoping to take them into their next chapter.

Finally, we have Matt Peterson, the very first coach for Conifer’s first flag football team. He’s a father of a recent Conifer grad.

See below to read more, and the school said they still have some more coaches coming. We’ll let you know when they're named!

🌡 SummerFest celebrates 46 years 🎨

Record crowds filled Buchanan Park’s South Field for two days last weekend, despite the heat and the sun. Freelance writer Tim Weighart told us it was a fun event despite the heat.

🎶 Elevation Celebration is bigger than ever

Don’t put the sunscreen away just yet. Conifer’s 13th Annual Elevation Celebration is this weekend in the Aspen Park area.

With three stages of entertainment, more than 100 artisans and vendors, kid-friendly activities and plenty of options for food and beverages, organizers are expecting crowds.

In fact, this year, they will host the Laidback Lounge, a semi-hidden speakeasy offering both cocktails and mocktails.

Best of all, it’s all free.

🎷 Evergreen Jazz Fest is everywhere this weekend

Don’t forget about Evergreen Jazz Festival, which kicks off Friday and continues through Sunday.

It features many bands playing around Evergreen, from the Lake House to the Elks Lodge to area churches.

Friday is Dance Night at the Lakehouse, beginning at 6 p.m., featuring four different bands.
